Star Wars: Movie Duels 2 - Released!

Everything has a beginning and everything has an end. So for a mod and so for Movie Duels 2.

More or less for one and a half year I have worked on this project which turned out to be my last one when it comes to modding. Of course there have been days when I just wanna leave the whole mod behind me and do other stuff but these thoughts have always been out rivaled by the satisfaction I got from creating something this big which obviously affects so many people all over the world.
And the feedback I got from the people who were first out testing it after the release last night, man I really got touched by your words, something I wasn't expecting.

At last I would like to thank everyone who has helped me through this journey and everyone who has kept the belive in this mod from beginning to end. Thanks You!

After about one and a half year of huge work Star Wars Movie Duels 2 is finally ready for release.

The last months me and my Beta test team have worked hard to minimize as many bugs as possible, and I think we have reached a stage where not much more can be done.

1 October 2009 is the date to mark in your calender. The mod will first be released on Moddb through a link to Filefront. If everything turns out well I will upload the mod to a moddb server and at last also to Jediknight3files. Of course you will also be able to get the mod from the official website.

MD2 Chat Closed!

Because of the really bad behavior in the MD2 Chat last time I felt I had no choice but to close it.

People who specify to be someone else, spread out falls rumors and spamming are the main reasons why I decided to close the chat.

I hope the guilty have some moral and feel remorse to the ones who actually just wanna discuss Movie Duels 2, which the chat original was created for.

Beta Testing!

Star Wars Movie Duels 2 has moved into its last part of the development. A week ago the Beta testing started. A team of 5 persons are doing there best to make the mod as bug free as possible.

And we have actually found a whole lot of bugs already.
I would estimate that we need another week or two to finish the Beta testing. As you probably have noticed I decided to have a closed Beta. I prefer to have a smaller group of persons I trust to do the job.

A part from the testing, Wytchking are working on a Nute Gunray and Rune Haako model which will fit in many of the missions. The models are as good as finished, there are only some weighting to be done.

I know you guys are eager to play this mod and want it to be released as fast as possible. That makes me very glad and proud, I guess I have done something good afterall. But to give you a little teaser I will in the coming week upload gameplay movies from Movie Duels 2.
Three missions will be presentated in three different movies. It starts today with the mission:
Retaking The Jedi Temple from Episode 3. The video will take you through the level from start to finish with all cutscenes included. Of course the quality will be in HD.

Update For May 09!

t has been pretty quiet from Movie Duels last months but no bad that has no positive effect. The development has actually moved on better than ever and I have managed to make some great progress.

I have mostly worked on two of the featured missions: "Masters Of The Force" & "Geonosis Arena". The duel between the Emperor and Yoda from Episode 3 will be a classic duel like the ones from Movie Duels v1.0. But to spice up the gameplay a bit I have added some new stuff like jumping from platform to platform to finally reach up to the Emperor. I'm really excited about this mission since I think it turned out very well and will be one of the center-piece of Movie Duels 2.

The second mission from Episode 2 will be a "Jedi vs Droid" mission with great variation in the gameplay. You'll fight as master Windu or Jango Fett, and depending on which one you chose you'll fight against waves of Jedis or Droids. In addition to all the objectives you have to complete you'll also get the chance to defeat Jango just like in the movie. The mission will also have some none movie related happens. This will add some extra feature to the gameplay as well as give an hint of what could have happened in the movie. I won't tell you more know since that would take away a great deal of interest for you.

Like if that wasn't enough I have made some great progress on the menus. The new ones are much more advanced and looks far better than the old ones did form version 1.01. I have captured some screens just for you, hope you enjoy them:

Daan from "Tales Of The Sith Lords" is the official beta tester and has been a great help for me.

Kal01 also from "Tales Of The Sith Lords" is the second Admin on the website and has helped me with some features on the website. He has also given me the opportunity to use some of his and the teams wonderful models.

I'm looking forward to develop the cooperation with you guys.
